The Path to Self Realisation

Rowden May 2021

• Only in active self-expression and the pursuit of our own aims can we become free

• We must overcome social oppression, the stifling of our potential by others. Also overcome self-oppression, our own negative thoughts
• Fear destroys greatness, fear is a crutch for emotional weakness
• There is a cost of giving in to fear, it stops progress and limits capabilities
• We alone are responsible for our emotions and how how we react to life and deal with it
• A better life is worth some struggles and sacrifices
• Motivation means reason for action, the mother of motivation is choice
• By contemplating higher goals, we energise ourselves to pursue them
• Sustaining motivation requires attention to effort
• Greatness belongs to those who master the ability to focus relentlessly on their emotions and act decisively to control and use them to the best effect
• Motivation comes from within and to grow needs the right attitude and environment
• The NOW is important, the HERE and NOW, reality is only here and now, we must learn to face it and form it as we want
• Do not drift too long in the past, by doing so you miss what is accessible right here and now
• Do not dream of a better future, this can only be formed and built in the now
• All things must be dealt with, don't put things off, now is the time to begin
• No distractions on the day, master what matters to you
• Clarity, direction, progress, there must be meaningfull activity to go forward
• Ready to say 'No', you do not need to please everyone in your life, be a person of purpose
• Master your internal world, emotions such as fear, doubt, worry, procrastination: you must have the courage to overcome\all internal conflicts
• Recalibrate the entire mindset towards advancement, nothing including circumstances or potential is fixed in stone
• Be conditioned to believe in bold but considered action, too swift progress can be reckless and dangerous, judge for yourself what is worth the risk
• Reality is not fixed but can be moulded to our will
• Decide what you want, Go, make it happen, action is the yardstick of character
• Don't wait for the approval of others - Go
• Success is not necessarily bad! To think so is self-oppression. Choose to use success to shape and change your world
• Gratitude, always be thankful for what you have, remember your emotional state is your choice
• The severest requirement of success is to have constancy of mind to maintain a stable emotional state even in the midst of hardship, pain and injustice
• What would you be? Then do what you have to do
• Do the right thing, act in the right way. Actions, little by little form a structure, either good or bad, upright \or crooked
• Who am I? What is important to me?
• Character, how would my best self act? Connection, how do I interact with others, am I happy with how I treat them? Contribution, what do I want to create, to build, shape or give? And how do I wish to be remembered?
• Consider before you act, don't commit if you lack passion. Keep your word, treat others with respect, tell the truth, always favour action
• Care with the 7 temptations: impatience, disappointment, aggression, desperation, loyalty, hurt and power
• We are humans, but try to rise to a higher \plane
• The only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve
• Many good people fail to become great because they avoid looking honestly at their personal lives. Address your own life first
• A society which lacks good people willing to speak out against injustice or evil can only devolve into darkness and mediocrity
• Let us demand and promote honesty, responsibility, intelligence, excellence, courage, respect for others, vigilance, service and unity
• All that matters is what is here now before us, to be lived, defined and experienced as we choose
• The more senses we bring to the moment, the more we slow time and enjoy what is happening
• Awareness is humanity's best weapon against time
